The aim of this study was to examine older adults' and nurses' perspectives regarding the care of older adults with diabetes. A qualitative design was used in this study. Data were collected using focus group interviews and analyzed using conventional content analysis. Twenty-one nurses and 21 older adults with diabetes participated in this study. The older adults and nurses' perceptions about older adults with diabetes' experiences of receiving diabetes care were similar. Older adults' perceptions of diabetes-related problems were also similar to nurses' perceptions. However, older adults perceived their own needs for diabetes care to be different from nurses' perceptions. They experienced diabetes-related problems related to the development of diabetes-related complications.
